Worship: Jack Thweatt

Jack Thweatt is a singer/songwriter and worship leader currently based in College Station, Texas. After graduating from Texas A&M University with a degree in aerospace engineering (I know it’s weird), Jack found himself at a crossroads; trying to decide whether to pursue a career in engineering that felt very safe, or pursue his true passion in music. Choosing to step into the unknown, Jack moved to Houston, TX and began working on his debut record You Take Me Back with producer Will Hunt (Spaceway Studios) in Ft. Worth, TX. With the release of his debut record, Jack aims to share all aspects of his journey. From searching for love in “I’m Not Ready” to recognizing that the peace he has can only be found in “Grace”, Jack draws you deeper into the beauty of life through catchy melodies and honest lyrics.

As an artist, Jack has opened for Dave Barnes, Judah and the Lion, Andrew Ripp, Penny and Sparrow, and Dan Layus (Augustana). He has also traveled Texas extensively in support of his debut record, performing at venues like the House of Blues Dallas, Common Grounds in Waco, The Grand Stafford Theater in Bryan, and on many college campuses.

Over the last few years, Jack has also received many opportunities to lead worship all over the United States. Recently he has enjoyed leading for Stumo Conference in Oklahoma City, Pine Cove Camps, and Breakaway Ministries. Currently Jack leads the Breakaway Worship team with whom he writes and produces songs each semester. Jack loves getting to share music of all kinds. Whether performing songs about his life or leading worship for his church, Jack loves the opportunity to share music and it’s gifts with people from all walks of life and in all settings. He has always found encouragement in the lyrics of other writers and hopes that, as he writes about his own life, listeners will be encouraged by his stories of love, hope, and where he finds peace.

What Is The Mission Tract?

Led by our resident Outreach Pastor, our mission tract takes place during free time and provide training and a chance for some hands on ministry in the community of Brownwood. We put the kindness of our God on display in this community through a variety of fun and interesting projects, and no prior experience is required other than attend a short orientation and begin serving. While completely optional this is a great way to discover new ways to love and serve your community in practical, tangible ways!

What Is Splashdown?

Splashdown is what we call our morning worship services. These services are a time for getting energized and ready for the day with corporate worship, prayer and a message that reinforces the biblical truths for that day.

What Free Time Activities Are Available?

During the afternoon you and your students have an opportunity to hang out and build relationships. Whether you decide to enjoy an ice cold beverage from concessions or choose to do something active there is something for everyone. From a ropes course with a zip line, lake front water-sports, paintball, archery tag, disc golf, volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball, horseshoes, soccer, ping pong, gaga-ball, and so much more!

What Are D-Teams?

At Intensity, students are divided into small groups called D-Teams for recreation and Bible study. These special teams are based on the grade they recently completed and provide the opportunity for your students to meet and learn alongside students from others churches from their communities and even from all over the state. Recreation is facilitated between multiple D-Teams in the same age ranges by members of our trained camp staff, who also lead the Bible studies. Each activity serves a specific purpose and is debriefed so students can make application in their lives.
